Dubai's Five-Year Multi-Entry Visa: Everything You Need to Know

Employees of international corporations can now apply for Dubai's new five-year multi-entry visa.

On Tuesday, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners' Affairs (GDRFA) of the Emirate of Dubai formally started the visa scheme.

Dubai has issued a new five-year multi-entry visa to foreign nationals who wish to work and live in the emirate. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, believes it will open up new opportunities for professionals and talent.

The GDRFA-Dubai has already started issuing the new visa to multinational company personnel, allowing them to visit and stay in the country for 90 days. They can also extend their stay for an additional 90 days.

The program, launched in collaboration with Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), aims to significantly streamline visa application procedures, improve access to the city, and lengthen international visitors' stays.

The following are some important features regarding the new scheme:

Who will gain access to the five-year multi-entry visa?

It is especially advantageous for employees of foreign-owned businesses.

According to a press release from the Dubai Media Office, "it enables corporations to participate in events, conferences, training courses, exhibits, and similar activities conducted in Dubai by these companies."

Has the visa been activated?

Yes. The GDRFA-Dubai has begun granting the new visa to multinational company personnel.

How long can visa holders stay in the UAE?

This multi-entry visa allows visitors to stay in the country for 90 days. They can also choose to extend it for another 90 days.

Increase visa applications

The proposal is the latest in a series of new visa programs launched by the city. The Golden Visa for entrepreneurs and property and business investors, as well as the retirement and virtual work visas, are among the others.

According to the GDRFA, these new programs have resulted in a large increase in the number of entry visas issued recently.

Dubai is making it simpler for international corporations to secure five-year multiple entry visas for their personnel. The action, according to Major-General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of GDRFA-Dubai, will strengthen Dubai's status as a global commercial and tourism center.

Dubai welcomed approximately 3.85 million international visitors between January and September 2021. The city has 726 hotel businesses, with an aggregate occupancy rate of 61%, which is among the highest in the world.

"Dubai is the favored location for global corporations to hold business events and activities, conferences, and meetings." "We are looking forward to hosting more international corporate events," Al Marri remarked.
