The Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme has rapidly gained momentum since its inception in mid-March, with the Dubai Land Department (DLD) announcing over 1,000 registrations from Emirati citizens. This initiative, a cornerstone of Dubai’s Social Agenda 33, has also forged 25 strategic partnerships with private-sector entities, marking a significant leap towards empowering local talent in the real estate sector.
Engineer Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director-General of the DLD, expressed his delight at the overwhelming response to the programme. He noted, "This reflects the early positive impact of the programme, showcasing citizens’ aspirations and eagerness to engage as real estate brokers and acknowledging the pivotal role of Dubai’s real estate sector locally and globally."
The programme's strategic alliances with development and real estate brokerage companies in the private sector underscore a strong commitment to fostering national talent. These partnerships aim to triple the number of citizens employed in the private sector, particularly in the real estate domain, enhancing their productivity and economic contributions.
To achieve these goals, the programme is conducting over 15 training workshops by year-end. These workshops, hosted by the New Economy Academy, empower participants and pave the way for real estate broker licensing. They focus on industry best practices, ethical standards, and streamlining real estate transactions.
One key initiative is the "Rehabilitation Project," which educates affiliated brokers, improves professionalism, and simplifies real estate processes. Additionally, the programme encourages developers to allocate a portion of sales to Emirati brokers, promoting their active involvement in the sector.
Under the private sector partnerships, participants benefit from support packages aimed at enhancing their competitiveness. These packages include collaboration on quality projects, innovation promotion, vocational training, and allocation of sales for Emirati brokers. This concerted effort aims to increase Emirati broker representation from 5% to 15% over the next three years.
The Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme stands as a testament to Dubai's commitment to nurturing national talent and fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors. Aligned with ambitious agendas like Social Agenda 33 and Dubai Economic Agenda D33, this programme not only elevates the real estate sector but also contributes significantly to Dubai's stature as a professional and inclusive business hub.
